For Screen
April first started working with screen-dance in 2011. Her first creation LIMBO was presented at the GLOW Film Festival (2012). This work was shortly born into hybrid live/screen performance that was presented nationally; Lake View Theatre, Arts Depot, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, REMARK Street Festival and the Grove Dance Theatre.
In 2015 April collaborated with the Royal Air Force Museum London in the creation of a screen dance installation for the 2015 temporary exhibition Defying Gravity. The work Glint on our Wings was inspired by extracts from ‘Time to Kill: A Young Man’s War’ the memoir of Lt John Charles Foster Wilkinson MC who wrote under the pen name John Foster. The work was specifically created for projection onto the under-wings of the London Museums, Sopwith Camel, single-seat biplane, and took residency for Spring 2015.
